Review: PawBakes Doggy Baking Kits

Our Mummy loves to bake, so when PawBakes got in contact and asked if we’d like to try their brand new doggy home baking kits we were very excited. She has searched for recipes online before but they all required ingredients that we did not have in the cupboard so no doggy bakes ever appeared. Luckily, with PawBakes kits, there are minimal additional ingredients needed, just water for the biscuit kit and an egg, a little vegetable oil and water for the cupcake kit. What could be easier?

National Pet Show – 7th/8th May at the Excel Arena in London

LPS 2016 Finals-01.jpgLast year I (Colin and Rhapsody’s human) went to the London Pet Show having won tickets in a competition online. Now re-branded as one of the National Pet Show events I am extremely excited to announce that this year I, along with Tilly’s human Amy, will be attending as a blogger! Unfortunately the pups cannot attend this one with us, don’t worry, they’ve been promised lots of treats and other goodies on our return.

The National Pet Show London is the first of the two National Pets Shows, the second is in Birmingham in November. In contrast to other shows we have been to, The National Pet show exhibits lots of different animals not just dogs. Although I am primarily a dog person, over the years our family have had a number of different pets including a budgie, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, a rabbit, many fish and cats so I always enjoy seeing different types of pets, and cuddling those that are willing! The National Pet Show has zones for every pet you can imagine, the Royal Canin Dog Zone, Hill’s Cats Zone, Burgess Small Animal Zone and the Fluval Animal Zone which comprises of the Exo Terra Reptile Area, Fluval Aquatics Zone and The Stables. All the zones have lots going on, from informative talks and expert advice across the show to impressive displays in the Nerf Actitity Rings and hands on experiences  in the Exo Terra Reptile Zone. With so much going on it’s hard to know where to look first so I’ve made a list of the top attractions I want to make sure we visit! Continue reading

Review: Wellybix Hand Baked Dog Biscuits

Wellybix is our favourite kind of company. They make yummy, handmade treats with no nasties in sight! Wellybix is the brainchild of Alison, originally a pastry chef, who lives in County Durham with her family and two year old Jack Russell terrier Welly-Bob who was the inspiration behind the brand name. Welly is also chief tester – a very important job indeed, I’m sure you’ll agree. Wellybix began when Alison started baking healthy treats for Welly, then local hotels and holiday cottages started asking for packs for their dog-friendly holiday accommodation and that’s when Wellybix was officially founded. Now Alison supplies many pet shops around the UK with her delicious treats and they have even been featured in pet subscription boxes (the ones from our Pet Nature Box were a huge hit). Wellybix’s main product is their dog biscuits but they also sell Bake-a-Bone boxes where you can bake your own Wellybix treats, luxury blankets, cards and bathtime products.IMG_1683.JPG Continue reading

Review: Green & Wilds’ Treats and Toys

When we received our Pet Nature Box last month we were thrilled to discover that it contained treats and a toy from Green & Wilds, we have been big fans of their since Mum visited their stall at the National Pet Show last year and are always impressed with the quality of their products. I absolutely loved my Ronnie the Rhino from our box (even if I did try to kill him) and we both enjoyed our whole salmon skin treat so we were very excited when Green & Wilds got in contact to ask if we would like to try some of their new treats. Not only did they send us their new ‘Luv Hearts’ and ‘Salmon Roll Bakes’  but they also send us one of Ronnie’s friends each; I claimed Desmond the Duck and Rhapsody got Peggy the pig.
