Our day started bright and early, we were the first ones at the gates, parked right next to the entrance and were poised for a long day of fun and frolics. Rhapsody was unable to join us as she was in season but my bestie Tilly and her hooman came along to join in the fun! Unfortunately, after parking, we then hit a tiny speed bump. Somehow, Mum managed to lock me in the car with the car keys. She called the AA and they were with us very quickly, unfortunately Mini’s are hard to break into so I was in the car for about two hours before the nice man broke me out by pretty much dismantling the entire back of the car. Mum says I was such a good boy as there was no damage or mess inside her car (which had been deep cleaned the day before).
Due to the delay, by the time we eventually got into the show the Scruffs entires were full so we were unable to register! Luckily there were lots of other fun dog shows going on so we entered those instead. All the fun dog shows were run by charities so we figured we should enter lots so that they could help lots of doggies that need help! We entered a number of classes between us including most handsome dog, bad hair day, prettiest bitch and best trick. I was unsuccessful but Tilly won the best trick class with her adorable routine! I was super proud of my girl. It was great to see so many different breeds and crossbreeds of dogs entering all the competitions, we hope it raised lots of money to help pooches in need.
Set up around the showground were loads of fun activities to have a go at. As were we two hours late getting into the show due to the car incident we were unable to try all of them! We did have a go at ‘Temptation Alley’ run by We Love Pets and the ‘Doggy Dash’ run by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. We were both fabulous (obviously) at temptation alley, right past all the toys and treats to our hoomans and we had great fun doing the doggy dash, mainly because we were off lead and allowed to have a bit of a play! I also managed to trip Tilly’s hooman up while it was their go, sorry! There were loads of other activities going on including agility, fly ball, dock diving and a scurry, if only we’d had enough time to do them all!
There was loads of awesome exhibitors at the show so we thought we’d share with you some of our favourites. Most of the exhibitors were small companies and charities, we spoke to some of them and they all said it was a great show to do as it is affordable for them to have a stall unlike some of the bigger shows. All of our favourites from the day were mostly treat companies (who doesn’t love treats) but they all had something slightly different to offer. First up is Top Collar which is a dog treat subscription box, Mum had spoken to Sophie previously about doing a review so it was great to meet the person behind the brand. These boxes only contain Sophie’s homemade treats and are super affordable at just £5.99 per box including UK delivery. Their treats were super tasty, we both loved them and manage to try most of the varieties on offer (as you can see in the video below!). We will have a review of Top Collar as soon as we receive our personalised box! Click here to explore their website.
Next up we found Fido’s Box. As many of you know we are always a bit weary of doggy subscription boxes, they often contain cheap toys and rubbish treats but we were impressed with what Fido’s Box had to offer. They had example of their high quality treats and toys on their stall and, again, it was great to be able to talk to the people behind the product. They really cared about the quality of their boxes and were more than happy to stand and chat to us about them. They are definitely one to watch for high quality subscription boxes! Our final edible favourites were from Four Legged Fancies dog bakery and boy were they good! We had noticed their stall early in the day but they were so crazy busy that we went back right at the end, and we were very happy that we did. They had an amazing range of biscuits, cakes and other baked goodies, we got a paw biscuit lollipop and two chicken pies to take home to share and they were AMAZING! We always love homemade treats and Mum likes them because she knows exactly what’s in them. Big paws up from us! If you fancy giving them ago, click here.
Our last find of the day was Wiff Waff Designs, as you will all know if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, we are big fans of bandanas and other handmade doggy accessories and we were thrilled to discover Wiff Waff at the show. They had a gorgeous array of fabrics, it was very difficult for Mummy to restrain herself (she’s on a bandana buying ban) but Tilly’s Mummy bought two when she got home – check out @sillytillypoodle on Instagram to see them soon! We will be keeping Wiff Waff accessories on our wish list (for now), we love them even more because they gave us a free tennis ball each! If you need same new accessories then click here!
Overall we had a great day, despite the car incident, and we would like to thank All About Dogs for having us! If you have an opportunity to go to an All About Dogs show then please do, it’s a great day out for the whole family to enjoy. There is plenty to see and do, they have food, activities for children, lots of great stalls, fun shows and, of course, your pooch can come too! You can also hashtag photos on social media with #bestdoggyphototrophy, we did and we were on the poster at the show! We would also like to thank the very talented Amy for taking all these amazing photos and videos (and for letting us use her phone to call the AA) – we’d been lost without you! Finally we would like to thank Mabel & Mu for our gorgeous accessories we wore for the even, they were much admired and we were definitely the best dressed dogs there!
