Next on our event scheduled is Paws in the Park Spring show on the 14th and 15th of March at the South of England Showground in West Sussex. We will be attending both days of the show as Mum felt that at All About Dogs, we we just went for a day, there was simply not enough time to see and do everything we wanted to do so, from now, on we are going to make a concerted effort to attend both days of weekend events in order to make the most of them! The first event that we are able to do this for is Paws in the Park and from the looks of the schedule we will need every minute the show is open to be able to get round it all! The Paws in the Park Spring Show is the first of the series of Paws in the Park shows, they are also running a Summer Fair in Hampshire and an Autumn Show in Kent so there are plenty of opportunities to go along!
Paws in the Park is very much a show aimed at the whole family; well behaved dogs are welcome and there is plenty on for little humans as well. Mum says we will have to be on our best behaviour, how rude. We always behave impeccably. The most exciting thing about Paws in the Park for us is all the Have a Go activities that will be going on! They have everything, including but not limited to; agility, flyball, cani cross, dogstable course, gun dog scurry, fastest recall and, of course, the K9 aqau zone! They also have a special “Mini Paws” zone for little dogs so even Rhapsody can try her hand at some new activities. There will also be flyball, agility and other canine competitions going on so we are very excited to see how it’s supposed to be done, who knows, maybe it’ll be me competing one day!
There are also a number of arena events going on at Paws in the Park, we are particularly excited about meeting the famous furry faces behind some of TV’s favourite programmes and adverts in the Film & TV Stunt Dog display (maybe we’ll even pick up some modelling tips!). We are also looking forwards to both the Huskies and Malamutes display and the Newfoundlands display team, we love big dogs so we can’t wait to see them in action. Other attraction includ K9 Quackers Sheepdog display, heelwork to music with Richard Curtis, winner of the freestyle Heelwork to Music title at Crufts in 2014, the Search and Rescue Dog display and agility displays, with so much going on it’s a good job we are going both days!
On both days there will be a KC Companion dog show going on, we have been told that it is one of the biggest companion dogs shows in the UK! With classes for both pedigree and cross breed dogs there really is something for everyone. Mum says we can both enter a couple of classes, lets hope we have better luck that we did last time! Rhapsody will enter the Any Variety Utility competition and possibly the Prettiest Bitch in the Novelty ring. I will probably be entering the over 15 inches cross breed competition and Best Biscuit Catcher in the Novelty ring, stay tuned to see what we actually enter and to see if we impress the judges!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a good dog show without the opportunity for us to spend some of our humans’ hard earned cash. At Paws in the Park there will be lots of outside stands selling everything a pup could possible want plus the exclusive Barks and Spenders indoor doggy shopping mall which will be a great place to hid if the weather isn’t great. As always, we will be on the hunt for exciting new products from companies we are yet to discover, especially healthy treats and exciting toys. Hopefully we will get some great products to review and recommend!
